A Celebration of Texture at The Broadview Hotel

Rebecca and Emmanuel gave us full creative freedom with their wedding design and we went to town on every aspect. The overall vision was something Rikki had imagined some time ago and when she was given the opportunity to make it a reality, she took it and ran.

The entire design was a celebration of texture and we loved how it popped against the industrial feel of the Broadview Hotel. We used incredible white clematis, smoke bush, Queen Anne’s Lace, and tuberose in this palette and loved how striking the white clematis and dark smoke bush foliage and chocolate cosmos were against the greens.

For their ceremony we created an asymmetrical arch with one side having a floral column and the other with a beautiful urn arrangement and growing floor arrangement. The floating installation was a big cloud of smoke bush and hanging moss and we loved how we cascaded smilax and Queen Anne’s Lace to give it a whimsical and ethereal feel. For the reception we went with ceramic bud vases to offset the hanging installation and used sage candles with white ceramic holders, creating a soft natural feeling in the industrial space of the Broadview Hotel.

A special mention needs to be given to Emmanuel’s boutonniere, which is one of our favourites this year. We loved the combination of the dark greenery, with the delicate white flowers, and wispy stipa. Subtle, but dramatic.
